Muckem fans dispersed around the city of Sunderlend this week bearing paper cups in an effort to raise money for a new football. Begging was somewhat slow and some fans had even considered begging in another more wealthy city under a false cause.
This unfortunate situation came about after training came to a halt last week when the club’s only football (a float away) was carried off by strong winds. The club’s Director of Football made an appeal to encourage fans to support their team by going out on the scrounge.
Fans managed to raise about a tenner which was used to buy the team a new football (a Casey) and training resumed yesterday ahead of their next game against Loverpull.
